Key Challenges

Implementing a real-time cart that persisted across page navigations without a JavaScript framework, and handling PHP session security correctly.

Lessons Learned

Deep appreciation for how vanilla JS can handle complex state when architected properly. Also learned the importance of SQL injection prevention.

Translating the client's abstract vision ("trustworthy but modern") into concrete visual decisions with no mood board provided.

The value of a discovery questionnaire before designing anything. Understanding the business before picking up the pen.

Achieving smooth, performant animations using only CSS and vanilla JS — no GSAP or animation libraries.

Lessons Learned

IntersectionObserver is incredibly powerful for scroll-driven animations, and CSS custom properties make theming trivial.
